In 2024, Irvington's Juneteenth celebration took on special historical significance with an event at Villa Lewaro, the home of Madam C.J. Walker. The day included a keynote address by A'Lelia Perry Bundles, Madam Walker's great-great-granddaughter, alongside guided tours of the historic estate, musical performances by VYBE4, storytelling by the History Twins, and drumming by Mashed Intellect. The day was a fitting tribute to a site so deeply tied to American history.
